IMPACTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON BRAZILIAN LEGAL SYSTEM

Abstract

The main focus of this work is to analyze the broad effects of the Covid19 pandemic on social and legal relations from a multidisciplinary bias, aiming to understand how law is adapting to the new reality that arose as a result of the pandemic and what trends for the future, with attention to the protection of the vulnerable, i.e. the consumer and the worker. It is notepoint that the work was developed through theoretical research, with emphasis on conceptual and critical procedures. The method of approach employed was the deductive and the method of the procedure outside the interpretative, critical and comparative analysis, studying the Law in the light of Philosophy and Legal Sociology. More than a reading restricted to the scope of consumer relations, the research will also address the issue of Labor, Digital and Civil Rights, in order to understand to what extent there will be the guarantee of the full exercise of fundamental rights, in addition to defending the interests of vulnerable groups in the face of an imminent increase in social conflict, whether by the precariousness of work and/or mass layoffs, either by reviewing civil contracts and economic instability, worsening dependence on new virtual platforms. It is noteworthy that the results of the research may be fundamental to better understand the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
