A EVOLUÇÃO DO PRODUTO INTERNO BRUTO DE MATO GROSSO DO SUL NO PERÍODO DE 2010 A 2017

Abstract

The objective of the work was to analyze the profile of the economic growth of Mato Grosso do Sul, based on the variation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state, between the years 2010 and 2017. The analysis took place through the bibliographic review of the report released by the State Secretariat for the Environment, Economic Development, Production and Family Agriculture - SEMAGRO, in 2019 and exploratory analysis of quantitative data referring to the GDP of Mato Grosso do Sul measured by IBGE. The results showed that the economy of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul has a strong activity linked to the service sector, and to a lesser extent to industrial activities, and these two economic segments are dependent on agriculture, livestock and mineral extraction. The analysis also revealed that from the period of monetary expansion and the shock of credit supply after the global financial crisis, the state has shown positive results in 2011, 2012 and 2013, but it is not sustained over time, since the expansion costs are high, rates at high interest rates and high interest rates. The GDP of Mato Grosso do Sul grew over the analyzed period, and its rate of change was lower in 2014 with 2.62%, 2015 with -0.27% and 2016 with -2.63%, and higher in the years 2011 with 3.45%, 2012 with 6%, 2013 with the highest rate of the analyzed series, 6.6%, and 2017 with 4.88%.
